Traditionally used in North American cuisines, cranberries are tart, red berries used fresh, dried, or as juice, with a sharp, tangy flavor. They’re rich in vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants and add a vibrant flavor in sauces and baked goods.
It is claimed or proven that consuming cranberries does the following:
- Supports urinary health
- Boosts immune system
- Promotes heart health
- Fights free radicals
- Reduces inflammation
- Enhances overall vitality

Cranberries are a good source of:
- vitamin C
- antioxidants known as proanthocyanidins
- resveratrol (the anti-inflammatory compound that protects heart and nerve cells and assists DNA repair thus helping prevent cancer)
- bioflavonoids (linked to the prevention of different cancers)
- organic acids that help dissolve fat deposits
In addition, cranberries help:
- clear up urinary tract infrections
- prevent gum disease by killing dental plaque producing bacteria
- increase HDL (“good” cholestrol)
