Healthelicious Activated Seed Snaps
About the Activated Seed Snaps
I soak then dehydrate the nuts and seeds I use in my top bars. (This removes the enzyme blockers so you absorb more nutrients when you eat them.) As I was pulling the dried tray out of the dehydrator Bronwyn said to me, “You know, they are a saleable product?”
When I put a recipe together I was amazed at how nutritious were the seeds. I added a few other ingredients to round out the nutritional profile and a mere 50 grams of these deliver more than 30% of the Recommended Daily Intake of 26 nutrients - 15 vitamins, 10 minerals and fibre!
The protein content is quite high at 23% and the sugar content is only 4%!
Now I prefer foods more moist than dry. These are on the dry side. So I would have them with something to drink. Probably perfect with a cuppa for morning or afternoon tea.
Another alternative is to crunch them up and add them to some yogurt!

Where possible I formulate my recipes to deliver the vitmains and minerals from plant ingredients that contain those nutrients.
In some recipes and for some nutrients I supplement what I can obtain from plant sources by adding vitamin or mineral powders, such as the fulvic acid minerals.
